The Centre
General Information
GEMS Prep School of Early Nurturing in Dunsborough has engaging and adaptive learning spaces. Our centre is divided into three rooms, with the maximum number of children per day being 45. Our small centre ensures we can offer you an individualised learning style by promoting active learning, critical thinking and enjoyment as children play and learn.
Ruby Room
GEMS enrols a maximum of 8 children per day in our Baby room. This room is known as our Ruby Room and has a separate sleeping room. It has a lovely outdoor undercover area that is bathed in morning light.
Toddlers Room
The Toddler room enrols 15 children per day. This room is known as our Diamond Room. This room also has glass sliding doors that lead to an outdoor area so Educators can allow children to choose between indoor and outdoor play spaces.
Sapphire Room
This is where we conduct our Pre-Kindy program coordinated and delivered by an Early Childhood Teacher who focuses on preparing the children for their formal years of schooling. Included on a regular basis are excursions to the beach and bush located within walking distance from the centre.
The layout of the indoor and outdoor spaces provide the perfect learning environment for children, as it radiates warmth, friendliness and safety. The large outdoor area provides the ideal setting for children to explore and learn through discovery, whilst still being involved in fundamental movement skills that are critical for the development of co-ordination, gross & fine motor skills.
All our Educators develop a Holistic approach to their teaching and learning programs where the focus is on developing children’s physical, personal, social,emotional, spiritual and cognitive well being whilst ensuring children have access to natural resources that promote sustainability and a connection with our natural world.
All rooms participate in excursions to the local bush and beach setting, both within walking distance of the centre. These excursions help us to educate the children on environmental issues and help them make connections with their local community and natural world.
GEMS Prep School of Early Nurturing provides; morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a light snack after 5pm. We aim to provide nutritious, homemade and wholesome food, whilst ensuring we cater for individual allergies, religious, cultural and lifestyle choices. If your child has a confirmed Food Allergy, please provide a GP authorised Action Plan upon enrolment. We look forward to working with you to provide your child with a healthy and varied menu.
Enrolment & Fees
At GEMS, you can nominate for your child to attend on a casual basis, full days, half days, before and after school care, school holiday programs. We also offer flexible care arrangements and encourage you to talk to us about your care needs.
Fees are $120.00 per day Casual bookings are $140.00 per day.
We are an approved Child Care Benefit Provider. We provide a Direct Debit System with fees debited on a fortnightly basis. The amount taken is the difference between your Child Care Subsidy and our daily fee. For further information and to see if your family qualifies, please refer to MyGov or call the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50.
If you cancel your enrolment, then a 2-week cancellation fee will be charged. Please note that if your child does not attend during the cancellation period then you will not be eligible for your Child Care Subsidy and full fees will apply. This is a government regulation not a Gems Early Learning CentrePolicy. Fees are subject to change without notice.
